Kaplan Starts Educational Venture Capital Group

NEW YORK, NY, June 9, 2010 – Kaplan, Inc., a leading global provider of education and the largest and fastest-growing division of the Washington, DC – based publication giant The Washington Post Company announced that it has established Kaplan VC, LLC, a subsidiary designed to identify and develop innovative learning strategies, technologies and products with the power to transform education worldwide.

The new group will be led by Jason Palmer, who assumes the position of Senior Vice President, Kaplan Ventures.
“Jason will collaborate with learning and technology experts across the company and the industry, serving as a catalyst to help us identify innovative learning technologies and new business models,” said Rosenthal. “Our goal is to nurture these new technologies to bring them to market, and to ensure our students and programs will benefit.”
